On behalf of the scientific and organizing committees, I would like to warmly welcome you to The 12th international Palestinian Conference For Laboratory Medicine (IPCLM-12), which will be held on (August 24th-26, 2023). This conference has been existing for the past 26 years in Palestine in the aims of sharing scientific updates and building collaborations with the broader community For Laboratory medicine professionals in its various sectors. This is an exciting opportunity to engage with our international partners as we continue to remain adaptable, motivated and responsive to the challenges of our profession, as well as Shaping The Future Of Medicine by Laboratory Medicine
To give you a brief update on where we are today, I would like to mainly highlight the main recommendations that were concluded after our last conference, which lead our activities afterwards, and would be the starting point for this conference. First, to establish an advisory council with the Palestinian ministry of health and the PMTA with the academics and researchers from Palestinian universities. It was recommended that the focus for future projects should be on applied research, that results be used for the development of the Palestinian medical laboratory field. A method for achieving this would be by incorporating research methods and creative thinking course at an undergraduate level to raise the competence level for fresh graduates. Encouraging research at academic, national, and international levels was an established goal that is thought to be achieved from continuous support from the ministry and by creating an online platform where researchers can share their most recent updates
Following from our gratification with the outcomes of our recent collaborations, I would like to give you an idea of what you can expect and what we hope to achieve throughout these 3 days of the 12th IPCLM. Firstly, I would like to highlight the efforts we put in order to produce a dynamic and engaging schedule that acknowledges the various fields of laboratory medicine, through proposing challenging questions that will accentuate the collaborative efforts between different professionals, international communities, and laboratory medicine sectors. This will be possible through holding cross-disciplinary sessions, which will allow us to focus on certain highlights in specific topics that interact with each other. You can see from out list of ‘Abstract Topics’ of this year that we have attempted to be all-inclusive of the various themes, therefore enriching this experience for all laboratory medicine professionals. Our partners have continued to identify and meet the challenges in our field, and despite the limitations, we are very excited to where we are headed today
Excitedly this year, we are very happy to announce the conference location and to invite you to Ramallah, as we have added a few social events that seek to promote the interaction between the different professionals. The conference will be held in a comfortable, modern facility in a great location. In addition to some social events that infiltrate our IPCLM conference that aim to enhance the networking experience. Our host city, Ramallah, is also a lively, cultural meeting point for the conference. You can view some of the main attractions and tours in the About Ramallah and ‘pre & post tours’ sections. It is needless to say that Ramallah and surrounding Palestinian cities are a culturally and historically rich, which we hope will complement your experience and visit to the conference
Before I close, I would like to express my gratitude for everyone attending the conference and gathering their experience and expertise with us. We very much look forward at this event as a platform for the exchange of ideas and experience for all professionals working in the medical laboratory fields. With the spirits of professionalism and friendship, the organizing committee of the conference cordially invites you to the conference on August 24th-26th, 2023
